Hello everyone...
Well, in one of my classes, Joseane and I decided to do a game with words relate to Carlos and Marcos´s unit. Then, we wrote the words in both languages: Portuguese and English and we cut it. They were supposed to guess the meaning in both languages. Everybody participated and enjoyed the classes, many of the words they got it. In the test many of the students did pretty well and I really think that they learned a lot with the game. It was a good experience to me as student- teacher and work with another person made me learn a lot. Every class should be like that!

Congratulations for having the courage to use a game within a classroom with many students!
ResponderExcluirIs amazing how well students learn fast when they are having fun.

This class was awesome, when we had the idea, we wasn't sure they would enjoy it... but they did and we had a great time together!

Camila,
ResponderExcluirI agree with what you told and also with the comment Megg did. Congratulations for having involved all the class in a game and for having the power to control them. They must have enjoyed it pretty much! And when it happens the learning process become more interesting and as a consequence, more natural.

Nice one!
ResponderExcluirHowever from games I had only bad experiences. Once I brought one to my class (not public school, lab class) And only in class, then, I perceived that the game was very weak.

As megg said earlier, students learn faster and faster when they are having fun, I'm pretty sure of that.
ResponderExcluirGames as lyrics are extra material and when the teacher do something different the class is really productive for students and for us as well.

This is a great idea! I always use word cards to make my students guess the meaning it works really well!
