Listening Skill

I could not remember a good remarkable practice in the practicum of this year. The classes were based on grammar. However, something I tried was to increase the number of listenings per class. I believe I started that from the middle of the course because I believe in the idea that says "listening you improve by listening". Besides the book's listenings I used to bring listenings from other sources, about other subjects and some of them were longer and difficult.  Nonetheless, I could not talk to my students to ask them if they felt some improvement.

  1. Listening ability is really important for students' learning. Vera Menezes says that the language is alive, so it has to be taught and learned as an alive language, that implies all abilities: listening, speaking, writing and reading.
Providing listening input for learners will help them to develop the speaking ability as well and students will be involved with the language because it will seem like a real situation of English language use.
Unfortunately, many teachers gave up of this practice, what turns teaching incomplete.
